FASHION FRIDAYS!!!>>>Versace Touch
May 21st, 2010 by LIGER
It’s true. Just when you thought they couldn’t think of anything else to gild, embroider, or “decorate”, Versace does it again. It’s hard for me to look at this phone with a straight face, while the other half of me wonders whether or not the Versace mafia/family has inserted some tracking device inside to keep tabs on their disciples. No, I’m not planning on buying one. But the sheer detail of this little guy amazes me. The specs- A collaboration with ModeLabs Group called Unique, a luxury touch-screen phone. Hand assembled in France, a face with an 18-karat gold or stainless steel finish, and a back covered in handcrafted leather embossed with the brand’s Medusa logo. The hardware was engineered by LG Electronics.
Price rage- $6,747-$8,464. Article courtesy of WWD.

Hipster Puppies
March 23rd, 2010 by DEVIL FISH+
For all you hipsters out there and your hipster pups, here is a site to check out Hipsterpuppies.tumblr.com. It shows photos of trendy pups doing what they do best; looking cute in their lofts, studios, bars, concerts, and just where ever their hipster lifestyle takes them to. Some of the stuff written about each puppy cracks me up. For example, this is what is said of Barney who is shown in the photo below…”Barney is more concerned with “dynamic range compression” and “the loudness wars” than the fact that he has shitty taste in music.”

Is This Really The End?
December 30th, 2009 by DEVIL FISH

I’m sure most of you know by now that the company Polaroid has discontinued their Polaroid film, but it really just hit me today, because I went out and got yet another Polaroid camera from a garage sale and really wanted to go out an use it in this beautiful rainy day. I’m so sad. I loved listening to the sound of the film coming out from the camera and the anticipation of watching the image slowly appear from nothing. I also, for some strange reason, loved the smell of the chemicals coming from the developing film, although that was probably not such a great idea.
+
I did, however, find this website SavePolaroid.com which is trying to find another company that can possibly take over the production of the film or save Polaroid from dying altogether. They have created a PDF package in which you can take action to help save it. Not sure how far ahead this whole thing is, but I guess it’s always worth a shot to try and do something if you are a Polaroid enthusiast.

Dansk
December 15th, 2009 by LIGERTHING has been holding strong through the “cold” L.A. winter to get ready for 2010. We’re working on a new pattern project which will be completed mid-January. I am almost done with an illustration that will appear in the next issue of Dansk magazine. If you haven’t heard of this magazine, try to find one. It’s a mix of 10/Pop/Dazed/ID, all rolled into one. It’s hard to find in the states, but check it out here. I will post the art work for the article once the magazine comes out.

Vintage Toys + Vintage Arcades+ Ice Cream= :)
December 8th, 2009 by DEVIL FISH
+
The other night, THING was out on the town and came across this little ice cream place that was filled with the coolest old toys and a few arcades that were original from the mid 80’s. Needless to say we got our quarters, that’s right only a quarter per game, and began to battle each other old school style. Those arcade games were a true treat. The place didn’t just have toys, but it had items that were collected and saved over the years. For example this newspaper that announces the death of Kennedy. I also saw some really old tickets to Knott’s Berry Farm framed in a small picture frame and hung proudly on the side of one of the windows.
