UP THERE, a film directed by Malcom Murray
Watch the full 10 minute movie HERE

Sure we all see large format advertising on side of buildings made of vinyl banners and drive past them without giving it a second thought, but there are a few people out there, that still hand paint large ads with the utmost detail. This film shows us the love and passion these artists have for their craft, which unfortunately, is on the verge of extinction with today’s technology. At the end of the short film, they show a 20 X 50 foot stop-frame animation created by the same artists, which took over 3 weeks of painting for ‘The Ritual Project.’ It is a MUST SEE!!

i-Phone 4

Whether you’re an Apple junkie, or not, you all have to agree the design to this new i-phone 4 is absolutely fantastic! It’s so sleek and elegant looking by having not only the front made of glass, but the back side as well. This new version is 24% thinner than the last i-phone 3GS, making it the thinnest smart phone on the planet.  The photos were released yesterday during the Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC 2010), where Steve Jobs announced it will be available on June 24, 2010. Here are more photos to drool over.

Asteroids = Water

April 29th, 2010 by LIGER

This week NASA spread the word that they have finally discovered water on asteroid 24 Themis, which they have been studying for 6 years. The theory that water was introduced from something off of the planet was a long-held theory, but now there is some evidence. The asteroid orbits the sun at a distance of 297 million miles, or between the planets of Jupiter and Mars and there is evidence of water ice and carbon-based organic materials.

“For a long time the thinking was that you couldn’t find a cup’s worth of water in the entire asteroid belt,” said Don Yeomans, manager of NASA’s Near-Earth Object Program Office, in a statement yesterday. “Today we know you not only could quench your thirst, but you just might be able to fill up every pool on Earth — and then some.”

What does this mean!?

It means that the story of the solar system will have to be updated and that asteroids themselves may be much more valuable than we previously thought.

“This is exciting because it provides us a better understanding about our past — and our possible future,” said Yeomans. “This research indicates that not only could asteroids be possible sources of raw materials, but they could be the fueling stations and watering holes for future interplanetary exploration.”

R.I.P. J.D. Salinger

Reading Catcher in the Rye in the 6th grade changed my life. His writing style led me to books by Henry Miller and Bukowski, both of which I still can’t live without. Apparently they have reason to suspect (according to one of his neighbors, some friends, and an ex-girlfriend) that he may have several unpublished novels hidden in a safe in his New Hampshire home. Looking forward to how they will unravel this story.

Have a nice after-life J.D. We’re going to miss you!
